Solón empezó a estudiar pintura mural y artes gráficas a principios de 1947. Para fines de ese año obtuvo el segundo premio de pintura mural de la Universidad de Chile. Al año siguiente pintó su primer fresco en el Palacio de Bellas Artes de Santiago de Chile titulado «Bolivia: Mar Ausente» y ganó el Primer Premio de Pintura Mural de la Universidad de Chile, y el Primer Premio de Honor para Extranjeros en el Salón Oficial de 1948 en Santiago de Chile.
El año 1949 hizo una exhibición en la Universidad de San Francisco Xavier de la ciudad de Sucre, Bolivia, en la que junto a otras 30 obras presentó 7 proyectos de mural.
Solón began studying mural painting and graphic arts in early 1947. By the end of that year, he won the second prize for mural painting at the University of Chile. The following year he painted his first fresco at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santiago de Chile entitled «Bolivia: Absent See» and won the First Prize for Mural Painting from the University of Chile, and the First Prize of Honor for Foreigners in the Official Hall of 1948 in Santiago de Chile.
In 1949 he made an exhibition at the University of San Francisco Xavier in the city of Sucre, Bolivia, in which, along with 30 other artworks, he presented 7 mural projects.
