El Quijote y San Francisco

Estas imágenes son parte de la primera serie de Quijotes dibujados por Solón entre 1965 y 1968. Antes de esta serie, Solón dibujó y pintó varios Quijotes con diferentes temáticas siendo el más notable el Quijote de tres cabezas que mira el pasado, el presente y el futuro de la educación en el mural “Mensaje a los Maestros del Futuro” (1954).

En esta serie vemos un Quijote de paz dialogando con San Francisco de Asís sobre la justicia, la libertad, la fe, la pureza y la esperanza humana. Para Solón, San Francisco y el Quijote tenían mucho en común.

These images are part of the first series of Don Quixotes drawn by Solón (1965-1968). Before this series, Solón drew and painted several Quixotes with different themes, the most notable being the Quixote of three heads that looks at the past, present and future of education in the mural “Message to the teachers of the Future” (1954).

In this series we see a Don Quixote of peace chatting with Saint Francis of Assisi on justice, freedom, faith, purity and human hope. For Solón, Saint Francis and Don Quixote are very much alike.
